FM TERRA

FM TERRA

FM Terra is FirstMolecule’s line of engineered activated carbons designed for in-situ and ex-situ soil and sediment remediation. These carbons are tailored to immobilize hydrophobic organic contaminants (HOCs), PFAS, pesticides, PAHs, heavy hydrocarbons, and industrial residues, ensuring long-term environmental stability and regulatory compliance.

Soil Remediation FM TERRA is a robust Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) designed for the long-term remediation of contaminated soil and sediment. This product is engineered to be a permanent, in-situ sorbent for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), PCBs, and pesticides. When mixed into the soil, FM TERRA acts as a powerful binder, immobilizing contaminants and preventing them from leaching into groundwater or being absorbed by plants.

Its large particle size is optimized for easy mixing and distribution within the soil matrix, while its high mechanical strength ensures it will not degrade over time, providing a durable and sustainable solution for land restoration and environmental cleanup.

Technical Evaluation & Competitive Advantage

Permanent Immobilization: Unlike other remediation techniques that may require continuous intervention, FM TERRA permanently sequesters contaminants. This reduces their bioavailability (the ability of a contaminant to be taken up by organisms or leach into water), providing a low-maintenance and highly effective solution.

Ideal Particle Size Distribution: The particle size of FM TERRA is carefully controlled to ensure uniform distribution within the soil, maximizing the surface area available to bind pollutants while minimizing potential for dust generation.

Cost-Effective & Sustainable: As a permanent solution, FM TERRA eliminates the need for repeated treatments or excavation and transportation of contaminated soil, making it both an economically and environmentally sound choice.
